How to find registered agent services |
| |
|
A few tips on finding a registered
agent |
There are national registered agent services and there are
local registered agent services. It is probably not necessary
to hire the services of a national registered agent firm if
your company is only doing business in one state. However, for
larger business entities who encompass more than one state, a
national registered agent service will probably cost less in
the long run over numerous local registered agent services.
A few tricks of the trade for seeking out a third party
registered agent . . . check with the Secretary of State or the
local Chamber of Commerce. The Secretary of State will usually
have a list of licensed or certified registered agents. It is
best to speak with a few in regards to services and cost.
It is also suggested to request referrals and testimonials.
Make sure to obtain contact information so that you can follow
up and interview the references properly. Securing a registered
agent service is not a quick decision, so don't treat it as a
choice of flavored coffee for the day.
